TankIQ

Industrial Tank Monitor & Control RTU

Remote tank monitoring that's dependable in the real world. TankIQ is a hardened edge RTU built for industrial sites where power is unreliable, connectivity is spotty, and getting a truck roll wrong costs thousands. Four sensor inputs. Four relay outputs. Cellular + LoRaWAN + satellite failover. Battery backup that keeps reporting when the grid goes dark. This isn't a dashboard bolted onto a sensor — it's an industrial control node that happens to have a great UI.

THE PROBLEM

What Keeps Operations Leaders Up at Night

Your data isn't reliable

Readings arrive late, sensors drop offline, and the dashboard shows stale numbers. You're making decisions on data you can't fully trust.

Power and comms are fragile

Remote tanks lose cellular. Solar falters in winter. When the grid drops, your monitoring drops with it — exactly when you need it most.

Alert fatigue is real

Too many nuisance alarms. Operators start ignoring them. The one alarm that matters gets buried in noise — and nobody responds until it's a spill.

Control is bolted on, not built in

Pump automation requires a separate PLC, separate wiring, separate programming. Every site becomes a custom integration project.

Scaling is slow and expensive

Adding a new tank site means specifying hardware, wiring panels, programming logic, and commissioning — weeks of work before you see a single reading.

THE ANSWER

An industrial edge RTU that monitors, controls, and connects — in one ruggedized box.

TankIQ replaces the stack of components you're currently assembling — sensor interface, relay controller, communications gateway, backup power — with a single hardened unit. It ships pre-configured, connects to ArgusIQ™ out of the box, and starts delivering actionable data within hours of install. Not days. Not weeks. Hours.

CAPABILITIES

What TankIQ Does

4×4-20mA Sensor Inputs

Connect up to four industrial sensors — level, pressure, temperature, flow — using standard 4-20mA current loops. Each input is individually configurable with alarm thresholds, calibration offsets, and fault detection.

4×Relay Outputs

Four dry-contact relay outputs control pumps, valves, alarms, and lights directly from the TankIQ unit. Configurable logic: threshold-based, time-based, or condition-based automation without an external PLC.

Multi-Path Connectivity

LTE-M/NB-IoT cellular primary. LoRaWAN secondary. Optional satellite tertiary. TankIQ auto-fails between paths to ensure alerts and data always get through.

Battery-Backed Power

Internal rechargeable battery maintains full monitoring and control during grid outages. Solar panel input for permanent off-grid deployments. Typical standby: 72+ hours on battery alone.

Edge-First Processing

Threshold logic, relay control, and alert decisions run locally on the device. No cloud round-trip required for critical actions. Data queues and syncs when connectivity returns.

AUTOMATION

What Happens Automatically

Overfill Prevention

Trigger

Tank level exceeds 90% threshold

Action

Relay 1 closes inlet valve; Relay 2 activates overflow diversion pump

Notify: SMS to field supervisor + email to dispatch

Result: Zero spills. Valve closes in <2 seconds. Incident auto-logged with timestamp and sensor data.

Run-Out Protection

Trigger

Tank level drops below 15%

Action

Relay 3 activates supply pump; begins refill cycle

Notify: Push notification to ops manager

Result: Never run dry. Automatic refill keeps operations running without a truck roll.

Leak Detection

Trigger

Level drops >2% per hour with no scheduled withdrawal

Action

Relay 4 closes master valve; system enters safe mode

Notify: Urgent SMS + voice call to safety team; incident logged for compliance

Result: Leak contained within minutes. Audit trail ready for regulators.

Sensor Fault Isolation

Trigger

4-20mA input reads <3.8mA (broken loop) or >20.5mA (saturated)

Action

Flags sensor as faulted; switches to secondary input or last-known-good + decay rate

Notify: Maintenance ticket auto-created; dashboard shows degraded status

Result: No false readings. No silent failures. System tells you exactly which sensor needs attention.

Pump Protection

Trigger

Pump runtime exceeds configurable limit or relay cycles >threshold/hour

Action

Disables pump relay; enters cooldown period

Notify: Alert to maintenance with runtime stats

Result: Pumps last longer. No burned-out motors from stuck relays.

WHY TANKIQ

What Makes This Different

Edge-First Architecture

Control logic runs on the device. If cloud connectivity drops, TankIQ keeps monitoring, keeps controlling, and queues data for sync when the link is restored. Your tanks don't go unmonitored because of a network blip.

True Multi-Path Connectivity

Cellular (LTE-M/NB-IoT) primary, LoRaWAN secondary, satellite tertiary. TankIQ auto-fails between paths without operator intervention. Three chances to get the alert through.

Integrated Control — No PLC Required

4 relay outputs mean pump control, valve actuation, and alarm activation are built into the same box as monitoring. No separate controller. No separate wiring run. No separate programming language.

Battery-Backed Continuity

Internal battery maintains full operation during grid outages. Solar-ready input for off-grid sites. When competitors go dark, TankIQ keeps reporting.

Pre-Configured, Not Custom-Engineered

Ships with standard configurations for common tank types. Connect your 4-20mA sensors, power it on, scan the QR code, and ArgusIQ™ starts receiving data. Site-specific logic is configured in software, not wired in hardware.

HOW IT WORKS

From Install to Insight

1

Wire Your Sensors

Connect up to four 4-20mA sensors — level, pressure, temperature, flow — to TankIQ's screw-terminal inputs. Standard industrial wiring. No proprietary connectors.

2

Power & Connect

Supply 12-24V DC or solar. TankIQ auto-connects via cellular (LTE-M/NB-IoT) and registers itself to ArgusIQ™. Scan the QR code to claim the device.

3

Configure in Software

Set thresholds, relay logic, alert contacts, and reporting intervals through ArgusIQ™. No PLC programming. No ladder logic. Point, click, deploy.

4

Monitor, Control, Automate

TankIQ runs 24/7. Edge logic handles relay control locally. Data streams to ArgusIQ™ for dashboards, trends, and fleet management. You intervene only when it matters.

USE CASES

Real-World Deployments
